Stainless Steel 446 Bars are composed of about 23–27% chromium, up to 1.5% manganese, 1% silicon, and a very low carbon content. This ferritic alloy isn’t hardenable through heat treatment and remains stable at high temperatures. The bars show outstanding resistance to scaling and corrosion in both sulfurous and oxidizing environments. Their mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around 485 MPa, yield strength of 275 MPa, an elongation of 20%, and impressive hardness retention under thermal stress. These characteristics make SS 446 an excellent choice for high-temperature and chemical processing applications.
