Stainless Steel 321H bars are crafted from a special austenitic chromium-nickel alloy (UNS S32109) that’s stabilized with titanium and has a higher carbon content than the standard 321, giving it an edge in high-temperature strength. This alloy is great at resisting oxidation, corrosion, and scaling, holding up effectively even at temperatures up to 900 °C, which makes it perfect for those elevated-temperature settings.
The typical makeup of this alloy includes carbon at 0.04–0.10%, chromium ranging from 17–19%, nickel between 9–12%, and titanium up to 0.7%. When it comes to mechanical properties, you can expect a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of about 35%. Plus, it boasts excellent resistance to creep and stress rupture.
