Stainless Steel 347H pipes are crafted from a stabilized austenitic chromium-nickel alloy (UNS S34709) that includes niobium, which boosts its resistance to intergranular corrosion and carbide precipitation when exposed to high temperatures. Thanks to its higher carbon content, 347H offers better strength and creep resistance compared to the standard 347, making it a great choice for high-temperature applications.
Typically, this alloy consists of 17–19% chromium, 9–13% nickel, 0.04–0.10% carbon, and niobium that can be up to ten times the carbon content. In terms of mechanical properties, it boasts a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of about 35%, along with impressive oxidation resistance up to 900 °C.
